Wanying is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Complex Systems and Networks at Indiana University. She holds a B.A. in Information Management and Systems from Wuhan University (2015) and an M.A. in Informatics from Wuhan University (2018). Wanying’s research revolves around narrative discovery, specializing in the design of computational methods for extracting narratives from raw text. Her work delves into understanding how narrative features impact political campaigns on social media and addresses gender bias in news. Outside academia, Wanying is a devoted cat servant with a penchant for sketching, crocheting, and contributing her time to volunteering at the Bike Project.
